Position: Police Officer

Department: Police Department, City of Gladstone

The City of Gladstone is seeking a dedicated and community-oriented Police Officer to join our team. This position is responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing laws, and engaging in proactive community policing.

Key Responsibilities:

Patrol residential and commercial areas, respond to calls for service, and conduct arrests.
Enforce traffic laws, investigate accidents, and provide incident documentation.
Serve warrants, transport inmates, and maintain custody procedures.
Participate in public education programs, school safety initiatives, and community outreach.
Maintain assigned equipment, complete detailed reports, and testify in court.
Support department training, accreditation efforts, and specialized roles such as DARE or School Resource Officer as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Missouri POST certification required.
Valid Missouri driver’s license.
Ability to meet Missouri Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirements.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to undergo ongoing training and perform physically demanding tasks.

Work Environment:

Officers will work in a variety of settings including patrol vehicles, outdoor environments, and potentially hazardous situations. Use of protective gear and firearms is required.
