This is a part time position with the following schedule:
Monday 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday 11:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Saturday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Position Function
Under the direction of the Director of Library and/or Designee performs assigned duties necessary to support the operational needs of the Library Department with respects to collection management and development, cataloging processes, inventory control, and customer interagency, and vendor liaison services.
Essential Duties % of Performance
Performs duties necessary to support the operational needs of the Library Department. Responsible for collection maintenance and development; cataloging processes; RFID and coding; inventory control processes and procedures; information services; and vendor, customer, and interagency liaison. 50%
Performs assigned duties to support the Library Department with customer service; basic computer assistance, locating library materials, checking out study rooms, requesting library materials. 35%
Responsible for assisting patrons with maker equipment. 10%
Performs additional duties as assigned. 5%

Environment
Duties are generally performed in an office environment. Possible exposure to dust, mold, and electricity. May require participation in outdoor activities and/or events that could result in the exposure to outdoor allergens, exhaust, fumes, humidity, and/or extreme or inclement weather.
Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required knowledge and experience is normally obtained through the completion of a high school diploma or GED, and three (3) to five (5) years of work related experience in Library Services is required.
Koha or other ILS experience required.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must possess excellent customer services skills.
Must be able to sort and file.
Must be able to communicate and present oneself in a professional manner, and have the ability to successfully work with all age groups and backgrounds and needs.
Must exhibit attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
Ability to type, read and write letters, emails, etc.
Ability to learn the City’s integrated Library software program/system.
Must posses strong organization skills and have the ability to work in a fast paced work environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working and professional relationships with City and other public employees, public officials, contractors, consultants, vendors, and the general public.
Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver license.
Must pass all post offer pre-employment processes and/or procedures, to include but not limited to Drug Screen, Physical Examination, and applicable Background Checks.
