NOW HIRING: CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS
Correctional Officers begin their careers with the Philadelphia Department of Prisons (PDP) as cadets at our Training Academy for 12 weeks of paid training at a salary rate of $52,047 ($25 per hour). Training is based on an 8-hour shift. After graduating from training and receiving assignment to 12-hour shifts, salary increases to $63,758, with the potential to reach $75,562. And voluntary overtime can increase pay well beyond this!
HIRING BONUS: $10,000+
Correctional Officers at the PDP also receive a generous HIRING BONUS of over $10,000! The hiring bonus is broken into two payments: $5,000+ after graduating from training, and $5,000+ after one full year of service.
Officer work schedules are set up to allow for a 3-DAY WEEKEND every 2 weeks.

ABOUT THE P.D.P.
The Philadelphia Department of Prisons (PDP) provides a secure correctional environment to detain people accused or convicted of illegal acts. The PDP operates four facilities, all located on State Road in Philadelphia, PA.
To prepare incarcerated people for successful reentry after their release, the PDP offers the following programs and services: workforce development; educational services; parenting classes; substance abuse services; behavioral health therapy; counseling, individual, and group therapy; and, vocational training.
