The Largo Police Department is a state and nationally accredited police department of excellence. The City of Largo is centrally located within Pinellas County, Florida, with a population of 82,000 residents. The Largo Police Department is a medium sized department consisting of 159 sworn officers. Our department offers several specialty units, competitive pay, out of county take home vehicles and all equipment is provided (beards, visible tattoos, and outer vest carriers permitted). 5% and 10% signing bonuses available. Police Officers hired with our department must meet eligibility requirements:
Must be at least 19 years of age
A citizen of the United States of America
Minimum of 60 college credits or prior LE/Military experience
Valid Florida Drivers License (Class E)
No felony or misdemeanor of character convictions
Largo PD Pay Scale and Benefits include:
Starting Salary $65,520 ($31.50/hr.)-$94,265.60 ($45.32/hr.)
$5000 Bonus for first-time Florida Law Enforcement Officers
$1000 relocation expenses
5% and 10% signing bonuses available
Salary incentives for lateral entry, AA or higher degrees, shift differential, Specialty unit pay
23-year pension at a 3.25% multiplier with a 7-year DROP

Out-of-county take home vehicle-no limits
